Dr. Mylon J. Kirksy

Co-Founder/Chief Operations Officer

Dr. Mylon Jamar Kirksy has over 13 years of professional experience in higher education working in a number of student affairs areas, such as residence life, Greek life, and housing services.  Mylon received his Bachelors of Science in Political Science and Public Relations from Illinois State University in Normal, IL.  He received his Masters of Communication and Information Studies in Organizational Communication from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ.  His Doctorate of Education in Higher Education Leadership and Administration was received from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA. 

Dr. Kirksy moved to Atlanta in 2011, and is currently working at Georgia State University as the associate director of university housing for residence life.  Last year, in 2013, Dr. Kirksy established Sidebar Education Consulting Group, LLC with his colleagues Randy Dorian Brown and Zduy Peter Chu, and serves as the company's chief operations officer.  

Dr. Kirksy’s areas of expertise are in student learning assessment; program assessment and evaluation; staff development and training; and organizational research, assessment, and evaluation.  Dr. Kirksy is also a certified behavioral-based interviewer and a qualified administrator of the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) that assesses intercultural competency.  His professional affiliations are with the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) and the Association of College and University Housing Officers – International (ACUHO-I). In 2007, Dr. Kirksy received the NASPA Region VI Mid-level Student Affairs Professional Award for outstanding commitment to the profession and contributions to the development of programs that promote student learning and personal development.  This year, in 2014, Dr. Kirksy was honored with a membership into the Global Directory of Who’s Who Among Executives, Professionals and Entrepreneurs.
